If you, or someone you know, is experiencing, or has experienced, physical, emotional or sexual violence in the home, we can give you support, help and information.


Victim Safety Team

The Victim Team offers free and confidential information and support to women and men affected by domestic abuse in Blaenau Gwent. The team aims to provide a listening, non-judgemental approach to provide individual support that meet the clients’ needs and situation. This includes advice around options available to the individual as well as safety planning.  Support can be accessed over the telephone or face to face appointments at the office.   All clients are allocated a Safety Worker who will aim to provide the following support:

  • Managing risk and safety planning
  • Understanding domestic abuse
  • Advocacy
  • Housing and refuge support
  • Police investigation and processes
  • CPS and criminal court proceedings
  • Attending court & IDVA support
  • Advice on family court proceedings and CAFCASS
  • Sign-posting to outside agencies

All support aims to assess and reduce the risk of harm to those going through Domestic Abuse and to create plans which support individuals to keep themselves safe.


Phoenix Programmes

The Phoenix Programme is a two stage learning and understanding experience for victims of domestic abuse.  It is free and designed to help you understand domestic abuse, how it has affected your life, recognise your power and choices and learn techniques for achieving your goals.

Youth Support Service

Provides support for young people aged between 11 and 18 years within Blaenau Gwent who have been affected by domestic abuse.  This includes working with young victims and also young people displaying abusive behaviour in either their own intimate relationships or towards parents.
